Live Pizza Demo & Home Cook-Along (or order-in!)

Newsflash: We planned but had to scrub this in ’21, this year more ability to hold it both in person and online, come join us either way!

Join our first ever virtual Feb Club Pizza Party with Yale’s own world-renowned pizza authority Jeff Varasano ’88, founder of Varasano’s Pizzeria in Buckhead! From the safety of your own kitchen, we invite you to watch Jeff demonstrate how he makes his mouth-watering thin crust gourmet pizzas in 800+ degree ovens. Atlanta hosts Marty Fleischmann ’88 and Matt DiVenere ’87 and others will comment on the action and relay questions to Jeff. We’ll give you a sense of the tastes and an alum’s dietitian take on the nutritional value of the various pizzas!

If you register here you can also get a list of ingredients/tools and instructions to make your own pizza at home along with us, then have a chance to get live tips from Jeff as well as show off your finished product on the national livestream (joint with a video meeting for discussion). It’s a really fun friends & family activity you can do at home, whether or not you have a pizza stone or pizza steel already, and you end up with a tasty dinner!

Don’t want to make that kind of effort? You can also pre-order in the same pies Jeff will make live (if you live in Atlanta) so your family can eat them along with us! We’ll also have a few raffle prizes of free Varisano’s pizza, with at least 1 hot one for local pickup and 1 coupon for the national audience to those registered in advance and viewing live, so make sure to pre-register! Finally, it wouldn’t be Feb Club Atlanta without the presence of the 2008 Inaugural Feb Club Mory’s Cup — we’ll mix up one or two authentic Mory’s colored mixes to enjoy live with the pizza.

Whichever way you want to take part, you can only win by attending! If coming in person we ask you to be fully vaccinated and comfortable being in a public space. This is a voluntary fun alum event, not officially sponsored by Yale or YCOG, etc. We look forward to raising our glasses and slices to toast each other irl or virtually at Atlanta’s 14th Annual YCOG Feb Club, see you then!
