February’s around the corner, and that means a good excuse for a Yale gathering. While they debate in New Haven whether to change the name of Calhoun College, we’re happy to gather in Columbus to celebrate, as the song says, those “fri-i-ends-ships formed at Yale.” That’s right, once again it’s time for…

This is a new location for us. The Hey Hey is a former speakeasy that calls itself “a neighborhood dive with an amazing craft beer selection.” Is this false modesty? (Just like when you used to tell people you went to college in Connecticut?) Come find out. The Hey Hey has recently revamped their kitchen and offer a lot of new food alongside old favorites like sauerkraut balls and yak burgers. (The Dispatch wrote about them last fall.) By the end of the night, we’ll all be calling it New Hey Hey, I’m sure.
Should you attend? Yes. And bring every Yalie you know. If you want to bring friends, partners, or other people, please do. In the past years we’ve had a run of classes that cover nearly fifty years, and many in between. Rest assured you’ll find someone who knows the Yale you knew.

It takes its name from the series of parties that, at least in the late 1980s and early 90s, Yalies much cooler than us used to attend on campus during the long nights of the year’s shortest month.
